So last Saturday we’ve went to La Mort Subite (Brussels center), luckly we did not go far as the way back home was really not what you could call smooth :)
La Mort Subite is a very famous bar, very Belgium like with little food and lots of drinks “beer mainly”
The one that impressed me was “Abbay du Forest” very good beer has about 5,7 Vol/alcool but you don’t really feel it that strong, price is about 5 eur in that particular bar and goes very well with friends, not that great alone J. Grimbergen Brune is quite different from Abbay we’ve tried that on a friend’s advice and end up light headed J very strong don’t play too much with this one as you’ll find yourself looking for the soft drinks section. Grimbergen only about 4 euro here.
Good impression from the serveur or garson, nice guy made a joke every time he passed by our table, couldn’t speak any or little English.
About mid night we’ve decided to quit La Mort Subite and join up in a Grand Place bar I was still ok when we’ve left but soon found my drinking limits so I joined the way home.
All in all La Mort Subite is a nice one, nice people joining up virtually every evening, we recommend it 100% .

A few weeks back some friends of ours invited us to a surprise location. So surprise that we did not get the address right at first. The weather was really horrible and the only clue we had was that they had many limes and “jungle vegetation” With that in mind we drove around for about half an hour and finally we saw the neon light “Jungle Rhum” that matched perfectly the clues we had in mind parking was not really easy especially on a Sunday night (in UCCLE). Inside we were very surprised to see the limes hanging everywhere and the electric green dominating the atmosphere. We set on and ordered right away, there were not many people but just enough to make a good impression, cocktails mainly on the menu so we went for the mojito 7euros I guess fair – it was more than fair when we saw the amount in the glass that is a plus. I was driving so had to stop before the mist sets on my eyesight Everyone had a nice time the atmosphere was relaxed the music was good but I thought it was in a tight look or we’ve stayed too long… At some point in the night the BASS went out so they had to change a cable or the BUFFER, they did not really rush into that but as we were sitting and trying to have a conversation that did not really bother us .
The bar looks really great and the people coming to this place are really set for having a good time, we felt at home The impressive cocktail they have is called an aquarium and it’s a 2 liter cocktail for about 23 Euro comes with some firework inside “careful". The building is a little bit weird as you don’t seem to see the whole dimension of it unless you go around, WC is OK and clean did not look for condoms yet had some on me. The location is near the UCCLE cemetery a bit creepy if you ask me, but as long as it’s away from the center of town it suits most of the people that have the center fatigue syndrome. All in all we think this place is cool and advice you to give it a try and possibly let us know your impressions.

An interesting place, one of my taste also. It's big wooden barrels are great and the beer...my god ..there are so many of them, you really don't know what to drink. The people from there are great You can found it near Grande Place. |
